We will never forget!

We will never forget!

We have all heard of the vicious hate crimes that has been toward our African American men and women in America. It makes me sick thinking how a country that is meant to protect us has let these hate crimes go on for so long and ignore what has been done to African Americans and any other minority.

It’s so true when they say that old habits die hard. With the riots, looting, protesting, and black lives matter groups that’s trending and starting a movement, there is no one else to blame for this but the government or anyone who stands by racism. Even if you are ignorant to the fact that it is happening, you are still the blame!

The brutal crime that has gotten all of America’s attention was George Floyd’s horrible killing by policemen in Minneapolis. What made it worse was that it was recorded by many bystanders as his life was being taken. The recording of this incident is so hard to watch without crying or being in deep sorrow. The cops didn’t care if it was being recorded or if the whole world was watching. Why you ask? It’s because they were use to killing African American men without a cause.

All they had to do was pitch a story that he was a black man, and make up a story line that went alone with it. Its hurtful that he pleaded with the cops that he could not breath, and begged them not to kill him. But they did not care because they all had one intent, and that was to end his life. I do not understand the motive to have so much hate for a person you don’t know, let alone African American people.

That same hate has been used to destroy my people, that is why I cant stay quite about it & I will never forget the day it happened. It was like I was in Minneapolis though I was far away in Georgia. It’s painful to even think about it. When I try to put myself in his shoes, I can’t even imagine being calm If I know policemen are about to kill me. What did they expect him to do? Stay calm and be quite while someone tries to kill him, when he knows he did nothing wrong?

While putting myself in George Floyd shoes, I though about when I was in an incident with policemen, though it was nowhere near as tragic, I know how scared he was. I can remember when I was in car accident and had a encounter with some crocked cops. I was on my way to work, had licence and insurance, well dressed.

I just got in a simple bumper incident, but I knew their intent was to take me to jail. I can tell by their demeanor. I had never went to jail before or got into trouble with the law. My only problem was that I was an minority and my apartment was in a bad area. I couldn’t afford to live in a better neighborhood.

What was sad was that most police officers are trained to harass the minorities. You can beg to differ, but ask yourself what race has the most people incarcerated? African Americans. And guess who falls next? Hispanics and we are all minorities!

I am a minority and the policeman felt that they could treat me any kind of way. They cited me wrong and had the audacity to ask me to sign it. I refused because I stated that It was cited wrong and I wanted to take it up with the court. He was training another officer and he stated:” I’ll show you how to do it”.

I feared for my life when he said that, so I told them I was calling my lawyer. Before I can do that the dragged me out the car and took me to jail. The bad part about it was that I didn’t do anything wrong.

What did they do? They made up a story line and charged me with obstruction to an officer. Now you see how they plant stories. Anything can be obstruction to an officer. This incident showed me how policemen are trained one way or another to harass and suspect minorities of a crime even if the person is innocent.

After seeing what those policemen did to George Floyd, I fear them even more. How can they kill him without evidence that he committed a crime? How can those murders get away with it? That’s why I pledge to never forget what happened to George Floyd. I will keep fighting until justice is served and a change is made.

Change Will Come!
